07:07 Min

Three Indian seafarers killed following a US military strike on a commercial vessel in the Gulf of Oman. The deaths were confirmed by India's Shipping Minister, after their bodies were located and identified. Washington said it carried out a "precision" strike on the vessel after it failed to follow instructions. It was carrying oil from Iran at the time. India's foreign ministry lodged a protest with the US and summoned a top American diplomat in New Delhi. Families of the deceased have been informed and expressed their grief and anger over the attack. Their deaths are the first reported since the US started efforts to blockade Iran-linked shipping in April. The US military launched another round of air strikes on Iran overnight, with Tehran also launching retaliatory attacks at US assets in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan. For more on the latest developments we are joined by Ishan Garg in New Delhi and Kate Fisher in Washington DC.
